Driving a truck isn’t an easy task. Truck drivers are constantly on the move, driving for hours at a time. That is why it’s so important to have some good music to keep you company and keep your spirits up.

There are many different types of music that truck drivers like to listen to while they drive. Some prefer country music, others prefer pop or rock. There are even some who prefer classical music or jazz tunes while they drive. There is no one type of music that all truck drivers enjoy listening to while they drive their rig down the road…

Which is why we have compiled a list of tunes that you should gander a listen to while you take your truckload down the highways of Nevada, Arizona, California, Texas, or wherever you happen to be working.

Although we may not be recording a mixtape here, our opportunities to listen to music while on the road have definitely evolved. Many trucks come pre-installed with USB and Bluetooth capabilities. This means you can curate your own playlist of your favorite tunes and leave your old CDs in the basement.

So what songs are a MUST to have on any truck driver’s playlist? Here are some of the songs that have proven to keep us motivated, alert and happy while out on our regional truck driving routes.

“Baba O’Riley” by The Who

This song was released in 1971 and became an instant hit with truck drivers because of its fast tempo and upbeat sound. It’s also one of the most recognizable songs from that era, which is great if you want to think about something else besides driving for a little while.

Anything By David Bowie

From the days of the “Aladdin Sane” tour, David Bowie has been known for his eclectic approach to music. He has always been a major advocate of the power of music to change minds and viewpoints, and he’s put that philosophy into practice with his work. In addition to being a pioneer in the world of experimental rock, Bowie is also one of the best-selling artists of all time, with a huge influence on generations of musicians.
