The Southwestern Lifestyle: Utah Edition

What’s the first thing you’ll notice if you’re a truck driver in Utah? How wildly the terrain changes the further north you drive into the state.  The soaring red rocks of Monument Valley give way to the evergreens covering the Rocky Mountains. That alone makes for an impressive drive.

What’s the second thing you’ll notice if you’re a truck driver in Utah? That it’s a four-season playground for pretty much every outdoor activity you can think of.  Fishing, boating, skiing…they can all be found in the Beehive State.

Best of all, these outdoor adventures can all be found just a stone’s throw from our Park City depot. Take a look at some of our favorite places in Utah to get out in nature.

Hiking

Arches National Park Hiking

All that spectacular terrain makes for great hiking. You can find hiking trails suited to every skill level in Utah. If you’re a truck driver who would rather take a leisurely stroll in your free time, don’t worry.  We’ve included some relatively flat trails along with the mountain ones.

Fishing and Boating

Utah Boating

Nestled between all those mountain peaks are some pretty spectacular lakes and rivers. When it’s time to get out of the driver’s seat and get on the water, Utah truck drivers have a wealth of options. There’re great boating options right near Park City, of course. Utah is too pretty, though, to confine your choices to just one place. So, we’ve included a couple that require some travel but are worth the drive.

Skiing

Utah Skiing

The best part about Park City might be that it’s minutes away from some of the best skiing in America. Park City’s famed resorts not only offer skiing and snowboarding, but gondola rides, offroad experiences and summer activities, too. When your work week is done, here’s our favorite resorts for laying some fresh tracks on the mountain…instead of the road.

Camping

Utah Tent Camping

The stunning natural wonders of Utah that you’ve been watching from your truck? They’re even more jaw-dropping when you get to fully immerse yourself with a few nights of camping. Some of the best options in Utah are just outside Park City…but we’d be making a huge mistake if we didn’t recommend Moab, even if it is a half-day drive.
